This page explains what personal information NJK Charity for Community collects, why we collect it and how we look after it. Last updated 1 September 2026.

Who we are

NJK Charity for Community, also known as New Jerusalem Kingdom (Church of First Born), is a registered charity based in South London, operating as an outreach across several London boroughs. We are registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales under charity number 1214233, and with Companies House under company number 13791344.

For anything relating to this policy or your personal information, you can reach us at newjerusalemkingdom364@gmail.com.

What information we collect

We only collect information that people choose to give us. This mainly happens when someone fills in our contact form or emails us directly, and may include:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number, if you choose to share it
  • The contents of your message, including anything you tell us about your enquiry, such as volunteering, partnering with us or requesting support

We do not intentionally use advertising trackers, analytics scripts or non-essential cookies on this website. The site does load web fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser may make a request to Google when the page loads.

How our contact form works

When you use our contact form, it opens your own email application with a message already addressed to us, using the details you entered. You choose whether to send it. The website does not store the form submission or send it to our server; we only receive information you actually choose to send to us by email.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to:

  • Respond to your enquiry, question or request
  • Arrange volunteering, partnerships or support
  • Keep a record of our communication with you, so we can provide continuity of care where relevant, such as with our after-school club or skills training
  • Meet our legal, safeguarding and reporting obligations as a registered charity

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

Who we share it with

We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share limited information with trusted people involved in delivering our services, such as trustees, staff or volunteers directly supporting your enquiry, and where we are required to by law or to protect the safety of a child or vulnerable adult.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, or to meet our legal and safeguarding obligations as a charity. General enquiries are usually kept for up to 24 months. Records relating to our training programmes or after-school club are kept in line with safeguarding good practice and relevant statutory guidance, and are then securely deleted.

Children and vulnerable people

Some of our services support children and vulnerable adults. Where a parent, guardian or carer contacts us on behalf of a child, we treat that information with the same care described in this policy, and with additional safeguarding measures appropriate to the person's circumstances. We never ask a child to submit personal information through our website without a parent or guardian present.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it for legal or safeguarding reasons
  • Ask us to stop using your information for a particular purpose
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where our use of your information relies on consent

To exercise any of these rights, email us at newjerusalemkingdom364@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold, including limiting access to trustees and staff who need it to do their work, and handling it in line with our safeguarding policy.

Making a complaint

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first, so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's independent regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as our services change or as guidance for charities is updated. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
